The Athlete’s Life

This course addresses “the athlete’s life” as a whole human being living within their environment and career, not merely a performance on the pitch, across four integrated units. It begins from a conceptual shift: from seeing the athlete as a machine analyzed part by part, to understanding them as a being living in complex, changing environments that shape their growth and performance — so training becomes individualized within context. The units progress from the ecological model and systems theory, to career and retirement, to the dual career and transition support, and finally practical application for managing balance through an intervention model and case studies — grounded in established models (Bronfenbrenner, Wylleman & Lavallee, Stambulova) with an institutional and policy dimension.
